What should men know about keeping their Hormones in Balance?

As we talk about hormonal changes in our body, it is more about women’s health and how they reach the menopause stage. But the changes in hormone in men’s body is also an important matter to discuss, since as age progresses men and women both suffer from the shift in hormones and the consequences of it inside their body.

The Growth Hormone & Cortisol: The association with Testosterone

The other two hormones, which are near related to each other, and testosterone are growth hormones and cortisol. Growth hormone is responsible for growth in men, and the more level of this hormone is present in a male before reaching puberty there will be more chances of him to grow tall.

Growth hormone is directly proportional to testosterone as in, the more there s growth hormone present in a male, the more testosterone levels will be there in that man. It is usually so that less growth hormone disrupts the body composition. But too much of something does not have excellent consequences again.

Experts found that more levels of growth hormone could lead to a spike in blood sugar levels. Hence, all the hormones must be in their required amount. The other important hormone which is disproportionate to growth hormone and testosterone is cortisol.

Cortisol is the name given to stress hormone, which increases if a man is under constant stress and cannot manage so. As cortisol rises due to persistent stress and lack of a proper sleep cycle, there would be a decrease in growth hormone levels and testosterone levels.

It is an issue that is faced even by men in their middle ages or boys who are still in their early adulthood. It happens so due to the kind of lifestyle they live, such as terrible food choices and more fat consumption, leading to fat accumulation in wrong places, drop in sperm count, and disease progression such as diabetes.

According to experts’ view, one can reduce their cortisol level by improving their sleep cycle and take the minimum number of hours to sleep. Moreover, managing stress by talking to a professional or a loved one could do the trick and indulge in healthy practices such as being fitness conscious, and eating the right diet will make all the difference.
