People around the globe experience joint pain often in their day to day lives. More than half of the population experience some kind of joint pain in some part of their bodies. It is very crucial to know that the pain you are experiencing is due to some injury or is due to arthritis. According to the Arthritis Foundation, there are over 100 different forms of arthritis and related diseases. That means a person can feel arthritis related pain in different parts of their bodies in many different ways.

Common joint injuries:

  • Runners Knee
  • Plica Syndrome of the Knee
  • Rotator Cuff Injury (Shoulder)
  • Sprained Ankle

Common areas of joint pain

  • The neck and top of the back/spine. Neck pains are commonly tied to poor posture, such as forward head posture, sleep related issues or stress.
  • The jaw

TMJ disorder is a type of temporomandibular disorder (TMD) that can cause pain in our jaw joint and in the muscles controlling the jaw movement.

  • The knees and shoulder

Osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis are the major causes of joint pain in the knees and shoulders. Knee and shoulder are the most active and moving joint of our body and thus they give away a lot and are the first to fall down. The pain in these areas limits the range of motion and may require surgery as a course of treatment in some cases.

  • The hips

Joint pain in hips can be caused by a number of reasons such as, arthritis, hip fracture, and it can occur in women especially due to tendinitis and bursitis, Hernia, and Gynecological and back issues.

  • Hands and feet

Joint pain in hands and feet is one of the early signs of rheumatoid arthritis.
