Diabetes falls under one of the most common health issues of this time. Diabetes is basically when the blood sugar or glucose levels of your body are higher than normal. When you have type 2 diabetes you need to be very selective of what you eat, when you eat and the amount that you are consuming.

  1. Green vegetables

Not just eat green, go green. Spinach is not enough for the dose of green you need when you are diabetic, go for various green vegetables and treat your taste buds.

  1. Melons

It is a lesser known fact that melons contain comparatively less amount of carbohydrate than any other fruit. Approximately, 15grams of carbs per cup of melon juice. It is sweet in taste so being a diabetic you can enjoy sweets through melon and have control over your glucose levels.

  1. Berries

Just like melons, berries of a different kind contains only 15 grams of carbs per cup of juice. Thus having berries is a safer and sweeter choice too.

  1. Low-calorie drinks

Have water. If you can quit all the drinks you consume in your day-to-day life and just stick to drinking water, than its guaranteed that you will live a life way more healthier than you contemplate. But in real, this kind of a thing is near to impossible to do. So what actually can be done is switching to low calorie drinks and putting a ban on others.

  1. High fiber and whole grain foods

High fiber foods are good for health and termed as to be very beneficial for our body. They contain a little amount of carbs but still help manage the glucose levels in our blood.

  1. Protein

Eat foods filled with protein. It will not only help to control blood sugar level, but will also keep a check on your weight.

  1. Good fat

Good fat includes olive oil, fatty fishes, avocado etc.  Having these in a generous amount is very beneficial for the body.
